Wedding Flower Trends

A Wedding is a very personal expression of your true self.  You naturally want everything to be a reflection of your own personality, interests and dreams, not just individually, but as a couple heading off into an exciting new married life.

Your wedding flowers will play a very important part in reflecting those qualities and aspirations. Bridal floral trends go through many changes from year to year but whatever the current trend, it is important to find a style that suits you.

At Frida’s we consult with you and work with you – whether you are looking at a contemporary or a traditional feel to your flowers. We present a selection of new bridal floral ideas gleaned from overseas and New Zealand websites, which may provide you withsome inspiration when planning your wedding.

Bridalguide.com suggests a stylish but simple approach to wedding table flowers. Freshly local picked blooms and free form bouquets with a mix of big and small plus a good colour variety. Also different shades of colour are a great idea. Fragrant herbs, colourful fruit and vegetables can add colour and texture to table arrays and centrepieces. We suggest some discreet signs to please not eat the table displays!

Mywedding.com talks about full bouquets with a variety of big and small blooms (very traditional!). Also of interest to us in the Pacific Rim is the Tropical look, with lots of vivid bright colours and a variety of different shaped blooms. Alternatively a natural green combination of Ferns and native plants and berries makes for a fresh approach. Bouquets with a combination of full rich coloured blooms are exciting, while herbal arrangements can add delicate beauty and fragrance. Adding long flowing ribbons is another nice touch.

M2woman.co.nz  takes the fruit and vegetable theme a little further by suggesting the right food items can be added to your floral bouquets. With the growing popularity of floral patterned wedding dresses why not consider matching your dress flower design  with your bouquet and perhaps a lovely crown of blooms for your hair. Metallic themes are popular right now. Gold and glitz are great additions to your floral displays.

While these trends are all very interesting, we understand that your thoughts and vision are most important to you. At Frida’s we don’t work to a prescribed style but we adopt a consultative approach to your wedding flower needs.  So please talk to us and whether you want to adopt the new or traditional style, we will work with you to make your wedding floral displays something special!
